Problems with the Rifftrax Player?
Has anyone been able to use the Rifftrax player? We've tried it with three different computers, with several different media (burned DVDs, commercial DVDs, etc.) And it just never works--I mean, we can get the riff playing, but the movie never goes. Anyone have any ideas? (and yes, we've checked all the Codecs and stuff)

The only problem I had was that I didn't realize first-off you had to choose a DVD codec to use, so if that's not your problem then I can't help. But I do use the Rifftrax Player, whenever I watch a Riff.

I've used it since the start with not a single problem.

Does your drive work with other DVD player apps?

I've had a lot of problems with the RiffTrax player, but not that one.
*Crash, crash, crash some more please. Others who owned Macs during the system 6-7 days will know why the bomb is such an appropriate logo for the Rifftrax player.

*DVD's play, but they don't stay (or always start) synced up. And in the Rifftrax player you can't manually fix it by pausing movie or riff, unless I missed something.

*Playing riff introductions tend to make the potentiality of the first two bugs go from 60% to 100%.

I play the movies using dvdsimple:// from VLC and then pop open winamp. I'd be more disappointed except they didn't make their fame creating computer software, they did it making fun of movies.

I believe it just flat out never worked for Mac (although some people were able to get it to run in parallel mode using XP.)

The plan right now (from what I can tell) is that they will be looking into creating some sort of plug-in for VLC player which will essentially do the same thing as the Rifftrax player. (And it'll work on just about anything that VLC works on.)

Oh, and I haven't had any issues with it on my various PCs. (But I was one of the people who wished it would work on my Macbook Pro)
